Sonya P

20/01/2014 - 19 Shvat 5774

Sonya has cerebral palsy. Sonya was at home as she couldn’t attend any state kindergarten.

She comes from a large family; two brothers, mother and father. Sonya’s mother is a teacher. Unfortunately, in 2011, Sonya's father passed away.  When he was alive he did not work as he was an invalid. The family's income is very low. Sonya has cerebral palsy.  Till 2005 Sonya was at home as she couldn’t attend any state kindergarten. She had no friends. Sonya’s mother learned of Gan Chamah’s project from the internet. We accepted the girl into the 1st grade of Gan Chamah's primary school in 2006. She was given an individualized schedule with more time for breaks as she became very tired during the school day. Sonya is a very high intellectually developed person. She is fond of drawing. Her art works won first awards in Moscow Art Festivals for children.

In 2011 Sonya finished primary school and went to a distant school for children with special needs. Sonya still participates at CHAMAH Sunday Family club activities and takes art lessons (we attach her drawing in the letter). Sonya and her family are active members in the programs of CHAMAH.

We provide Sonya with a taxi service making it easier for her to attend school.
